Raised in houses where everything came from the co-op. Grew up playing loud music in small rooms. Spent years with cracked lips before we did anything about it.

01 — WHERE WE COME FROM

WE GREW UP IN CRUNCHY HOUSES.

Three different kitchens, same energy. Bulk bins. Jars without labels. A mom who read the back of everything out loud in the grocery aisle. Carob instead of chocolate and no argument about it.

Nobody bought lotion. There was a tub of coconut oil in the bathroom, a block of beeswax in a drawer, an aloe plant on the windowsill for burns. We rolled our eyes at it for eighteen years. Then we turned it into a product.

02 — THEN WE PLAYED MUSIC

VANS. BARS. BORROWED LIP BALM.

Every one of us ended up in bands. Practice spaces with no heat. Load-ins in the wind. Singing into a mic until two in the morning, then driving to the next town with the windows cracked.

Musicians use their mouths for a living and treat them like garbage. Our lips split every tour. The only fix in the van was somebody’s tube of petroleum that tasted like a candle.

So we did what our parents would have done. Melted beeswax, shea, coconut oil and aloe on a stove. Poured it. Passed it around the green room. People kept asking for more.

03 — THE FOUNDERS

No investors, no agency, no chemist. Three musicians who still pour every batch.

04 — HOW IT WENT

KITCHEN. STAGE. STOVE. TUBE.

1. 01 THE KITCHEN Three crunchy households. Beeswax, shea and coconut oil were just what was in the drawer.
2. 02 THE STAGE Bands, tours, cold rooms. Lips wrecked from singing, wind and bad lip balm.
3. 03 THE STOVE First batch melted in a saucepan. Four ingredients. Handed out backstage.
4. 04 THE TUBE Poured in small batches, packed by hand in a black box. Still is.

05 — LAST THING

OUR MOMS WERE RIGHT.
